Mortgage Interest rates have hit an all time low. Who would have guess that we would be seeing rates below 5% and they are predicted to hit 41/2%. What does this mean for you the home buyer and seller? Well it seems that things are starting to look up. The market is still slower than in the past, however we have seen it starting to come back which is great news for all of us. Sales seem to be remaining about the same this past month, in comparison to the third quarter of this year. The average price of homes is around $145,000., with average number of days on the market around 90. With mortgage interest below 5%, we are starting to see more buyers. Utah still remains very strong in regards to the housing market, compared to the rest of the nation. Out of state buyers still look at Utah as a under priced market and this is true of the local buyers as well. It is still a buyers market and as all reports indicate, even though the market has softened slightly, Utah still has a high demand in the Real Estate Market and considered one of the best places to live according to all national surveys. We are seeing a steady amount of growth with new industry and interest in our State. Proximity to a vast variety of recreational areas, make it the perfect place to live and to do business. Major recreational corporations are relocating their headquarters to Ogden, which in turn is sparking the interest of not only investors, but people wanting to relocate to a place where they can enjoy the wonderful out doors. Soon Ogden plans to build an 18,000 seat amphitheater for plays and concerts along with a water ski park on an existing lake. The Perry Egyptian Theater is a satellite site for Sundance Film Festival which is held in Park City each year and has musical and theatrical performances throughout the year as well.
