Mortgage Interest rates have seen a dramatic decline in the past month. This has sparked interest from home buyers, who now are able to qualify for loans below 5%. The market is still slower than in the past, but we have seen an increase, with buyers wanting to lock in loans at these outstanding rates. The average price sold in the last month was around $299,000 with an average days on the market still around 75. The number of homes on the market is less than other areas, mostly due to the fact that there is not a lot of building happening in this area which limits the market. One thing to remember is that our market in Utah is stable compared to many States and interest rates are still very low, making buyers want to invest now rather than to wait. The number of people moving to Utah is increasing and and jobs across Utah have increased with all the new industry making their headquarters here. Corporate American knows a good deal when they see one. Unemployment is considerably lower in Utah than the rest of the Nation and wages are good. It is still a great market for buying homes. Utah is considered to be one of the top 10 places to live and still considered to be under valued compared to other areas in our Country.
