Other good signs are positive action on % of new listings sold along with lower DOM (days of the market) and lower new listings.

Positive National Market News would also be helpful for home buyer confidence.

So let's look where we are with the National Market.

Last month was a rough month. Wall Street's bad actions are continuing to spill over into Main Street (many of us are seeing large reductions in our 401k accounts). The housing market continues to be leading the economy weakness and we will have to stabilize it before we can have a solid economy recovery.

The news media and politicians talk about the need to keep homeowners in their homes. That is helpful, however we need much more. The housing weaknesses lead us into this and needs to lead us out.

Before you buy do your homework and due diligence. Now it NOT the best time to buy for most individuals (some are buying). Should you feel you need to buy in this market, take your time. Prices don't appear to be appreciating anytime soon.

All markets differ from zip code to zip code. Do your homework and due diligence. The more you know the better buying and/or selling decision you will make.

I was born and raised in southern Utah. After, I got married we moved to the Salt Lake Valley and have spend most of our married lives here.
