We are facing a strange time with all the negative publicity about our economy. There is truth to the reports but I also believe the media tends to blow things out of proportion.

There are many homes for sale in the Park Cities but there are still sales taking place. Many homes are sitting on the market for extended periods of time but there are buyers out there!

We still have one of the strongest housing markets of any major city in the U.S. Now all cities are going to have fallout from the subprime mortgage mess -this is a fact...but it hasn't affected our market too much thus far.

Overall I believe we have a stable real estate market with our job growth, low unemployment, and the benefits we have seen from the Barnett Shale.

Approximate Location Boundaries: North of Wycliff, South of Northwest Highway - West of Central Expwy, East of Inwood

Location Characteristics: Park Cities is the collective term usually applied to the two Texas "island" cities of Highland Park and University Park.

Highland Park and University Park are two municipalities surrounded by Dallas, Texas, and generally have the highest per-capita income in the area, though other neighborhoods in Uptown and North Dallas equally feature their own economically prominent residents. Because of the large disparity in the average income of their residents and that of nearby Dallas residents, and the fact that the towns' governments are independent from the city of Dallas which surrounds them, the Park Cities are often referred to, sometimes derisively, as "The Bubble."
