We in North Dallas have one of the strongest housing markets of any major city in the U.S. Now all cities are facing fallout from the subprime mortgage mess -this is a fact...but it isn't going to have a major affect on our market. There is much negative media coverage going on and this is hurting our consumer confidence. Of course, there is some truth but I always take what I see on the news with a grain of salt! I believe we have a more stable real estate market then many other major metropolitan cities with our strong job market, the affordability of our homes, and our location and climate in the U.S. Well priced homes are selling in North Dallas but overpriced homes are sitting on the market for extended periods of time. There are buyers out there and they are looking for deals. The well-priced homes are selling. I believe now is a great time for buyers to get out there and buy. There are many deals out there to be had.
ZIP Codes: 75230, 75240, 75248, 75252, 75287 Approximate Location Boundaries: North of NW Hwy and South of George Bush
Location Characteristics: Dallas is the third-largest city in the state of Texas and the ninth-largest in the United States. The city covers almost 400 square miles. As of 2005, U.S. Census estimates put Dallas at a population of 1.2 million. Dallas was founded in 1841. The city is known globally as a center for telecommunications, computer technology, banking, and transportation. It is the core of the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States and lacks any navigable link to the sea. Dallas's prominence despite this comes from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, its position along numerous railroad lines, and its powerful industrial and financial tycoons.
