As with most of the San Antonio Metro area, sales in Helotes during 2008 were down about 15% from a year ago. Inventory is approximately 15% higher and prices are down about 5% for the year. Interest rates are near historic lows with some quotes coming in under 5%!. The bottom line is that it's a great time to buy a home in Helotes!
My call for Helotes: The current opportunity for a buyer's market will last into the summer of 2009. Prices will continue to decline until the excess inventory is absorbed.
